Default '89 4.3 Completely Randomly Needs To Be Jumped

My story goes like this; at completely random intervals I can't start her up, just get a *click*. Lights radio everything else works fine and the volt meter rests just below 14.

I have a brand new battery, and had the alternator tested, which came out ok.

I didn't drive her for three days last week and when I came out to start her up, she started without a problem.

I drove her today for some errands, she started fine 4 or so times. When I got home I shut her down and immediately tried to start her again, within 20 seconds of turning her off, and *click*.

When she is just *clicking* if you jump her she starts up fine. But you never know once I shut it down it might start it might not it's driving me crazy!

Any help would be much appreciated.

Sounds like it could be a failing ignition switch...
