'89 4.3 Fuel injection, engine power problem
Getting a major lack of power when i step on the gas. just got the blazer to.
Any suggestions? do these "carburetors" need to be rebuilt over time? or is there something else thats might be suffocating my engine?
(note: pulled air filter out and drove around... only the tiniest change.)

CPI or TBI? - do a basic tune-up (plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter) maybe even try fuel injector filters or pcv valve ($4 each) - keep in mind this could be a waste of money and time if none of these are the problem, but it should be done either way since u just got it - fuel filter helped mine the most, but i had to cut the old one out since it was too rusted and replace some line (about $25 total)

took me a couple of minutes researching... but its TBI if thats right... its got the 2 injectors above the carb.
well the Tuned Barrel Injection is alot easier to work on than the Central Port Injection, or at least less expensive. The fuel filter is located on the drivers-side frame rail, between the gas tank and the drivers door. If too rusted to remove, cut the lines and replace with a universal "see-through" filter and some rubber fuel hose, or u can try to use some replacement steel line to use a factory filter

so do you think this could be the problem as far as powerloss goes? because the previous owner left a packaged fuel filter in the center console, maybe planned to do it but never got around to it..
right now it was free vehicle, but claimed to have had all engine maintenance done with in the previous month. proving this could be as simple as checking the plugs and wires to see if they'r clean. other than that maybe he just didnt finish everything.
oh yea.. 1 more thing... there is some damage to the front driver side fender/door the front of the hood is pushed a little but can be bent back out..
as far as getting the door to remount properly.. how would i go about doing this? it doesnt look like either side of the brackets are detachable, just the pin.
i've noticed there are many things to these motors that can go wrong and cause power loss. with every part i've replaced it gets better, but still having problems getting all the bugs out. i guess trial and error are the best solution. the fuel filter would be the best place to start, but don't think it will fix everything.
