Well got my blazer going finally. Now it runs good but the idle is so low that it almost dies at stop lights. Is there a screw that i can adjust easily to make it idle better?? I couldn't spot 1 in my haynes manual. My blazer is a 1991 S10 blazer w/a 4.3L TBI. Hope someone can help soon. Thanks!!

Got it timed today and it seems to run a tad bit better so far. Question.. when we timed it the groove moved alot. It jumped from 0 degrees to 8 degrees alot. I am thinking this isn't supposed to do that?? What is up with that? Any ideas here??

did you say you replaced the fuel filter twice and the 2nd time it after 2 weeks it was clogged again? I f so you may have a lot of rust or dirt or someting inside the gas tank thats clogging you up.
also the fuel filter has a direction of flow check to make sure you put it on the right way.
another possibility is the fuel pump went out, I have never understood why but have always heard that if the fuel filter had not been changed a nd it was really stopped up and u finally change it for example after 100,000 miles that it will make the fuel pump go out.
a quik shade tree way to check the fuel pump. is to disconnect the fuel line from the tank side of the fuel filter attach some rubber fuel line to the metal one and turn the key on 11 PSI should a healthy stream of fuel, if its just barley coming out then u need a fuel pump.

did you say you used a Phillips (star) screw driver for unscrewing the injector? they're supposed to be a Torx screw (T15 or T20, been awhile since i had to rip one apart).
it's been awhile since you posted any updates bassjunkie1, how's the progress been going with this?

did you disconnect the wire inside before checking/setting your timing?
look under the carpet, below the heater box, there is a single brown wire (by itself, not "in" the harness), with a black plug. disconnect the plug, and set yur timing. this wire is the electronic version of vacuum advance for the ECM.
once the timing has been set, reconnect the wire and shut off the truck, this is supposed to "reset" the advance.

bassjunkie1,
I combined your two threads concerning the same issues so folks can more easily see what is being done. Please do not double post the same problem.

I am a member of several different forums two being ford and chevy and this is a 1st that 1 of them has done this. So, from now on if i have a different problem with THIS SAME blazer, i should just put it here??? COME ON MAN GET REAL.....
