92 s-10 blazer wont crank over
Driving my 92 last night and pulled into town and about an hour later came out and it wouldn't start. When turning key no clicking, nothing, just like a totally dead battery. Tried jump starting and still nothing. today tried again and began more diagnostics. Still nothing but Battery ok, lights work, etc. Never done this before. Did have to jump start an hour before pulling into town previously but did get started. Anbody have a thought?

Its running now and here's what i can tell: Battery good (Checked again) and lightly banged on starter and checked cables again, still nothing. Said screw this and attempted by myself to push home (level half mile), not good as had to push backwards out onto crowned rd and ran out of steam so let it roll back to original position but i did throw shifter around (automatic) and right as this good samaritan asked what was up i tried it again and presto! I think it needed more flywheel movement to rock the starter from its frozen position. Let me know what you all think of that.

Sounds like starter is toast! Time for a new one. No worries though, they are only like 35 bucks IF its 2wd. For some reason the 4wd starters are 100 bucks. why? No clue. I got mine at a junk yard for 20 bucks.
