My recently purchased 1993 s10 blazer has begun to act badly. The electronic dash display wentdark several times over a period of days and is now always unlit. Also, the radio stopped suddenly a few days after the dash went dark. When I checked the radio fuse it was fine but after puting it back in place the dome lights stopped working. They worked fine before checking the radio fuse!!! Also, the push button on the dash that opens the rear window no longer works.
All engine and transmission functions, electric windowsand exterior lighting are fine.
I bought both Haynes and Chilton manuals but neither have the electrical schematic for the electronic dash.
Several questions...any ideas what may be happening to my electrics and how to trouble shoot and repair?
Any sources for the electronic dash schematics?
Has a grimlin invaded my ride???

these digis are part of the demonic plan to **** off blazer owners. i took mine completly out cause the smoking power supply that put me in the dark was no good. Mrwhizzard.com, check it out they can have the dash rebuilt and back to u in a week. costs around 150-160 bucks and shipping is free, they send u a paid packing slip via e-mail

well the dimmer switches are known to go too but u got alot of electric bugs. sounds maybe like u have a short or loose wiring. very painstakingly shake and check every wire in the dash that pertains to whatever is problematic, make sure all connections are clean and on tight. also i had to figure out what wire was what after some junkie stole my radio and cut every wire past themarks, even the anttena. anyway i kept blowing fuses and f'n up the electric by connecting wrong wires. so check the fuse on the back of ur radio, the fuse under the dash, and check some of the other fuses like the power acc, or light fuses. i remember i thoughti fried my radio by misswiring but it turned out to be a fuse i wouldn't have quessed. i think it was the power access.

There is a dude on ebay who sells replacement dashes with instructions on how to swap them out.
I did mine and it requires ~3 hours of your time.

New mother board due in tomorrow so guess what happened this morning.
Yup! Dang dash lights and displays came back on as I was driving along. Hit the brakes to stop for an intersection and there they were...bright as could be. They will not dim using the dimmer switch but neither will any of the other lights on the dash.
I think grimlins have taken over my Blazer!!!
