Good day everyone
I am having a problem with my S10 Blazer and hiope someone can help.
Blazer info it is a 93 S-10 with the W (Vortex, CPI) engine in it. and it won't stay running. I can get it running with a shot of starting flud and then if I keep it reved at around 3100 to 3200 it will stay running. but one I let off the pedel it dies.
Here is a list of what I have done so far.
Replaced the Plugs, Cap, Rotor, Coil, Fuel filter, EGR Value($165.00 OUCH) fuel pump relay, Ignition Module,
Fuel pump run's at 54 to 62 PSI (tested at test port at back of intake manif). I have spark coming from Coil and to all plugs. fuel is getting to plug's or it wouldn't run at the 3000 rpm's
I also looked in at the Fuel presure unit inside the plum at it looked dirty with a lot of soot on it so I dont think it is leaking
I am going to next start pulling my hair out and I don't want to go bald
PLEASE HELP Wjat should I do next?

Does it maintain pressure for 5-10 minutes after you key it off? Jerry

when I first turn key on and then relay turns off the pressure go's to zero also after engine dies preasure drops to zero both times with in a few seconds I would say no more then 45 seconds later

Could be losing pressure some where, i would start with the fuel regulator, and the fuel pump. I had a fuel pump die because of a faulty pressure regulator. Was your gas mileage going through the roof? In my case i'd kill a whole tank on 40-45mins of driving

If you turn the key off and the pressure drops to Zero right away, then your fuel pressure reg is bad. It should hold pressure for at LEAST 10 mins after turning key off.

I purchased a entire Fuel injection Spider which included the FPR and installed today and I was still not able to get it running on fuel fed from tru system. I was able to get it to fire over and it tried to start but that is all it would do. Thinking it was just needed a little time or that the plugs where soaked with fuel ( Flooded) I tried Starter fluid and was able to get it to run for a few seconds but then it died. Going to get Fuel pressure gages tomarrow but was wondering if maybe the quick bleed down could be caused at the fuel pump end?

Did you replace the 'nut kit' (internal fuel lines) when you did the spider? If not, you likely fixed one leak only to create another.

Ok I connected a fuel pressure Gage to the test port and when I hit the key I seen that the pressure went up to 60psi and then when relay clcked off it dropped right away.
Ok so I pulled off the top of the Plenum and this is what I saw and did
I seen no gas sitting in bottom half and turned on keyand watched for any leakage I seen none at all. I then decided to try and check the FPR. I disconnected the return side and tried to block it off which I was unable to do but with the return off I seen that there was gas coming out of the return side of the FPR unit. Thinking that I have gotten a bad FPR but I wanted to do a couple of other test. I disconnected the input side of the FPR and using my thumb I blocked the input fuel line and had a friend turn the key on the pressure went up to 60psi but again when the relay kicked off it dropped back down to 0 within seconds there was no fuel leakage from the line where I was blocking it.
So with this I am now even lost more. Can anyone tell me where to go from here?

Sounds like a bad check valve in the pump, but are you sure that you had the line plugged well enough...
Hopefully you didn't create leaks inside the engine with all of the messing around.

I am postive that I didn't have any leaks when I held it as I was wearing medical gloves and got great seal matter of fact I did feel a little suction after it went back to zero. so that would be consisdent with the fuel going back down the line. I will have to check that out
