'94 Blazer has rough idle
Easiest way to test the fuel pump and fpr is to do a fuel pressure test. If after turning off the key you see the fuel pressure drop down, you've got a leaking fpr and/or nut kit (could also be the check valve in the pump, but unlikely).
If in fact is IS the injectors (since you said a simple bottle of cleaner helped slightly) maybe have them removed, cleaned and flow tested? its cheaper then buying brand new ones and I've had this before with a GM car. Turned out VERY bad gas not only got into the system but carmelized in the tank and the injectors. I had to replace the tank and the injectors got flow matched, tested and cleaned.
Just food for thought.

Well, the problem may have been simpler than we thought. Mechanic changed ALL of the wires this time (last time it was just a burnt one) and I would say that the idle is 95% better than it was. I guess I'm expecting it to idle like a new car, and maybe that's expecting too much. It still has a slight "hiccup" every once in a while that I imagine is due to something we haven't discovered yet. All of the spark plugs are new and properly gapped, so that's not it. Am I being too picky? I drive my two kids around, so I tend to demand that my car be in excellent running condition so I don't have to stress about that. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions and helpful hints (I printed out all of your replies and took them to my mechanic this morning-he thought it was great!). I will definitely keep checking up on this site, and maybe I'll be able to offer advice to someone else at some point...
If you havent done it, get that seafoam. Sometimes a miracle cure. You did mention fuel injector cleaner. Try another can.
Also; any exhaust leaks in this one? Muffler wearing out? Get the little things fixed, they all add up. A whine can be low power steering fluid also. Check it.
If you keep doing the regular maintanance that may have been neglected previously, it wil stop the hiccups.

Good thought, I'll check out the exhaust system today...The Blazer had been repoed, so I don't know anything about what the previous owners did, and they didn't keep any maintenance log with the car (like I do). Thanks, yet again!
Glad it was the plug wires. Ditto ont eh injector cleaner. I prefer to use only 89 octane gas with 10% ethanol in it. Seems to keep the fuel injections system cleaner, and I never have to add any cleaner to my gas.
Stop by all teh time, swe have a chat section too and do some general BS.
By the way, kids are our greatest nature resource. Mine are older now, college, girlfriends, so I don't get to see them as much as I used to. I remember when my days were spent with them. Sure was a good time.
