You mean they sold you a pump for a non-vortec engine? That means they sold you a TBI pump, which puts out 9-14 psi.
You have a vortec, which requires over 50 psi (actually over 60 psi to start).

well got her to run today must have just been that damn fuel pump i will never shop at auto zone i have just wasted like 50 bucks in gas driving back and forth and about a week all because they sold me the fuel pump for a onvortec
