94 Chevy S10 blazer 4.3 w Fuel delivery
Hello, I'm a mechanic with 2 years of experience and intermediate knowledge of car systems. However, I have yet to work on a fuel delivery system like this.
I’m seeing an issue where there's not even 10 PSI at the Schrader valve, and the pressure drops very quickly—within five seconds.
Based on my experience with other platforms, this points to a potential issue with the fuel pump. However, I'm not used to seeing the pressure drop at all in those cases.
Someone mentioned it could be a leaking "spider," but if the test port is located before the injectors, would the leak be further down the line, not at the topside?
I could understand a "spider" issue if the pressure were at 60 PSI at the test port and then dropped, but that doesn’t seem to be the case here.
This is my first time working with this type of fuel delivery system, so I apologize if I'm missing something. Thank you in advance for any guidance!
TLDR: Car is not holding fuel pressure. How do i know if its leaking in the tank or at the injectors?
