94 S-15 Jimmy front axle problem
My 94 S-15 Jimmy has a problem with the front passenger side axle. It's not the CV joint axle, it's the solid one that's part of the transfer case that the CV joint axle bolts to. I hit a large pothole on that side and ever since then that stationary axle has been "popping out", sort of like when a C-clip disengages in a solid axle rear end. I am guessing there's a clip that holds it because if I push it back in, it clicks and stays in, but I guess a big enough bump, pothole, etc... is all it takes to pop it back out. Aside from the fact that the bolts that hold the two axles together end up hitting the frame, I'm not sure if it's causing any other damage. I can't imagine it being as easy as removing the axle and replacing a worn clip... but that sure would be nice! Any advice, tips, or ideas on this would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
