my 94 Jimmy was having issues, sputtering and dying. Swapped out the (expensive) CPI spider injectors and it ran great for another couple years till I sold it.

Well today I am gonna try to swap out the distributor and the distributor button again maybe something in there went bad. If that doesn't do the fix I will try the fuel pressure regulator. I've noticed the spider isn't cheap, it's like 250 bucks at autozone. Thank you for your help and im still accepting any ideas.

Edit - Just changed the FPR, still runs like crap. Also replaced distributor cap and button again, sigh, running out of options. tomorrow, i will change the egr valve and the map sensor. after that the only thing left on my mind would be the spider injector. would really like to avoid that though. i will also change the fuel filter tomorrow if it decides to break loose.

The most trouble i have been given by my truck has been due to the fuel injection harness under the plenum... I would check that to make sure its solid tight and replace if not/anyway... its like 8 bucks. It should be in a list for tune up parts since IMO they are so bad.

im not so sure what you're talking about. could you explain it better to me?

I noticed some of the individual lines to the cylinders that run under the send/return fuel lines were kinda melted, but they didn't spray fuel when the pump was running so i think they are alright.

funny thing is, i just came back from work. the truck ran rough all the way there, sat in the scotts parking lot for 6 hrs, the battery died. got someone to jump me, and the truck started up, smoked a bit, and ran fine all the way home. i dont know if i should still change the egr valve and the map sensor or not. i am truly stumped. as soon as i changed the fpr and drove it still ran like royal crap, but i drive to work and it sits for six hours and then it drives fine. it still sounds like it has a bit of a misfire or something, but it is nothing as bad as it used to be.

the W-code pumps are usually louder than the Z-code ones. did your pump recently change in sound (loudness or pitch)?

i've always run the Champion Copper truck plugs in my 1st gen's (and i've had quite a few of them ).

contary to what fondo has heard, i've never had any issues with them, and i routinely shifted my '92 Jimmy @ 7 grand. they also seem to last longer than all the other plugs i've used over the years.

sounds very similar to the issues i'm having with the w-code in my brother's Dime. if i come across anything, i'll let you know.

the fuel pump stays at a pretty high pitch usually, but recently when you turn the key and let it build pressure it sounds pretty low. but my battery needs replaced, so that's probably the cause.

today i will change the fuel filter if it will break loose for me, the egr valve, and the map sensor.

success! the truck was running right again!... i let it sit for a few hours, now it wont start. something is wrong with the starter.

It will crank a few times then make a loud clunking sound and it will sound locked up or something..

if you messed around with your distributor maybe the timing is off!! I just did my entire CPI pretty easy actually I ended up taking the plenum off a few times just to check everything out as I bought a used one from the junk yard. just the other day I took the plenum off checked for washing put it back together in 45 minutes no lie!!! My Blazer runs awesome now!! the white smoke is your biggest concern now man white smoke means coolant and that usually means leaking heads!!! it will run like crap and overheat easily!!
