Default 94 S10 window motor replacement

How big of a job is it to replace a driver's door window motor? Mine will go partway down, then stop. If I wait a few seconds I can then nurse it up or down an inch at a time. I'm assuming it's the motor and not the switch. Anyone been there, done that on these puppies?

It's not that bad, but you need a die grinder to get the regulator rivets off and just a cordless drill for the motor rivets. Most replacment motors come with the bolts/nuts for the window to regulator, but you'll need bolts & nuts to remount the regulator assembly to the door.

I've done both front ones on mine.

i did the one in my 93 a few months ago. Its not bad at all. I just used a drill for all the rivets instead of a die grinder although it would have been easier if you have a small one

Leeann, thanks for the link. That's a big help.

Before I take it all apart I will double check the switch, just to make sure it's not flaking out.

I've done a bunch of these and probably the most important part of the motor replacement is to lock the arm (I prefer to ise the bolt method too). While you're in there, I advise you to clean up the track amd if your bearing is loose on the regulator arm, you can either replace it (LMC Truck sells them for about $5.00 each or there is a aftermarket part that is a threaded stud with a nylon roller that works a little smoother in the track. RockAuto sells them. It's a Dorman part so you can probably get it locally. Here's the RockAuto wbsite if you want to check it out. This is one I used for my 94. https://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raf...94%2BCHEVROLET If you need a switch, buy used and they are still high. Sounds like your motor to me. Shop around/ I bought 4 motors for like $23.00 each and that was about 1 1/2 months ago. Pretty easy project though.
