Post ABS problems

I have a 1992 s10 blazer 4wd yadayada
I did a quick search but I'm in a bit of a hurry.

The brakes lock up really easy when it's wet/slick at all and I'm hoping you guys could give me a little insight to the problem before I *** pack someone infront of me.

The ABS light isn't on so I'm thinking it might be something electrical.
I'm going check the fuse and do a quick voltage drop test on the ABS speed sensors when I get a change, but what else could it be?

Also I'm mainly focusing on the front wheels, I'm low on cash and I'd rather have the front working than the rear.

Thanks guys

Sounds like your rear brakes might be adjusted too tight...

The back brakes don't lock up like the fronts do, but that's because I've neglected to do any work to them since I bought the thing. I'm more worried about the front thought, because I loose all steering when they lock up.

My Pop's 91 jimmy sounds like did the same thing and replaced both calipers and hoses and stopped the problem. Bleed out system till clear also because fluid was all black coming out of it. Maybe be same issue with yours?

So your front wheels lock up, as in, the ABS is not firing? Or did you mean they make the pedal vibriate. The front wheels shouldnt lock up because of the ABS, and if it is not functioning then the light should be on. Maybe the bulb is dead behind your abs light, try jumping for codes anyways in case that is the case.

EDIT, duhhh that wouldnt work if the light was dead. Can you see it lit up when you turn the key on, then it goes out?

Default Similar ABS problem

I just bought a 93 S10 Blazer Tahoe 4x4 w/ the 4.3 CPI.

I've read these forums for about a week, and can't find an answer.

In my case, when I apply the brakes, I can hear the ABS kick in, and feel the pulse in the pedal. But the front wheels just lock on slick pavement.

I guess I'll check the front wheel sensors as a starting point, but it would be great if someone else has had this problem so we could get right to the issue.

BTW...great forum! Haven't come across the juvenile "flames" that are in so many other forums!

check to see if you have any ABS codes, because if the wheel locks the amber light would turn on unless its burned out before you waste your time checking every sensor. make sure your brakes are ok before assuming any ABS problem
