Default Air Cleaner Problem? RPO Code ?'s-91 S10 Blazer 4X4

I have a 1991 S-10 Blazer 4x4, 4.3L TBI, 2 Dr. Vin Code: 1GNCT18Z3M8248111. I need to replace the wax pellet actuator in the air cleaner and need to know or want to know what the Option codes determine. I have code (opt CTF). What is this code indicating(besides interim design change). I found that this vehicle came with 3 options:
>with off road air cleaner(opt 9K3)
>without off road air cleaner interim design change(opt CTF)----Mine
>without off road air cleaner without interim design change.
Does anyone have any tech info with pictures of the 3 options or know where to get and if I can get a new part instead of having to purchase used from a wrecking yard-which I will have no idea if the condition of the part is working or not when purchasing. Any info would greatly be appreciated. Mine will actuate when heated with a torch but not when heated with a heat gun. So it does actuate but not at the 130 F like the manuals indicate.
Thanks-Sean

Here's a link to all the GM RPO codes, which you probably already have and probably won't do you a bit of good. That's a part you don't want to replace from a yard. Your just putting back in what you took out. If it's not the vacum type then I would think your only hope would be a GM dealer. Good luck..!

Thanks for the info I've already contacted the dealer and they said it's obsolete. I don't know what to do except bypass it and then what do i do when it's winter again(drivability issues)? I'm blown away that this part is not still made.

I was out in my favorite u-pull-it yard today and ran across the wax-pellet-actuator on an air filter. It was pop-riviteted on. Did it come like that from the manufacture? If not it could be a newer part that was put on. The spring and door worked really smooth and the whole part looked good but that's not saying much. I guess your stuck with a yard part, just hope you find one that's got some life still left in it......

I'm not 100% sure if this will help but mine has the same pellet thing on it would it be possible to just go and find the vacuum kind at a yard and rig it to work. what i've been doing is on hot days i flip the air cleaner lid you still get filtered and great air flow unfortunatley its not the cool air from in front of the engine but instead hot air from the bay but at least it's not hot air from the tube goin to the exhaust.

Thanks for the replies. The actuator is pop riveted on, that's the way they come from factory. I have a GM part # now#19143597-wax pellet actuator, it is obsolete but I'm betting that somewhere are a few of these lying around. Also a person can buy the whole air cleaner assembly GM#25098688 @$445.04, price quoted from local GM parts department. A guy could probably get an air cleaner assembly off a 2.8L engine, which has the vacuum actuated THERMAC. I wouldn't even try to incorporate it into my air cleaner. So there's that if anybody is interested. If nothing comes out of this search is I will just rig up something to hold that door open when its warmer out.
