Default any help or suggestions?

okay so i know its been a hell-uv-a long time...but ive started working on the old 88 again....thought i had her running for a while when i changed the fuel pump.....but now the BRAND NEW pump is dead after 4 days in the tank.....why is my blazer eating fuel pumps???

It sounds like the wiring is sending too much power to the fuel pump causing it to die so quickly.

Have you done anything electrical related to the truck? If anything at all, check the wiring that goes to the fuel pump and the fuses.

i had to replace the engine bay wiring harness because of a fire....it was from an 88 S10 pickup...but everything hooked up fine, also replaced the computer with the one from the pickup....could there be any subtle differences?....also...what fuse(s) go to the pump?

Looking at diagrams, in the fuse block, the ECMB fuse (10A) is the one that should protect the fuel pump system.

Try using the jumper first off to rule out bad relays. There is a wire bundle by your brake booster and relays that will have a little pigtail on an orange or pink wire that is not connected to anything. Jump 12v to this little guy to power your fuel pump direct.

Its been a while since Ive been under my hood, but I think its the orange/pink wire in the top right corner of this photo, if not, then its just to the right of where the photo cuts off.

okay so....took a test light...and put it on the connection in the back for the pump....and it did light up...but it was really really dim....that doesnt seem right...almost looks like its getting very little power
