Default bad idle when stopped

hey everyone. i have a 91 s10 4.3l and ive been having some minor issues with it. whenever im driving its running fine. but when i come to a stop, it starts to shake a bit. i start to go and its fine. also when i give it more has my "service engine light" turns on. i replaced the egr and nothing happened. same issues. does anyone have an answer for this? i was told that it could be the iac valve. where is it located? thanks

The iac valve is in the throttle body.

What is the code that is being reported?

I have this same problem in my 91 Blazer. Another sign I've noticed is an extreme drop in oil pressure.

What I've been told is that there's a vacuum leak somewhere. Any ideas?

yea, sounds like a vacuum leak or a intake gasket leak. you can spray carb cleaner around your intake gaskets, and if the engine smooths out or revs up then you have a leak. also check your vacuum lines for dry rotting

You don't need to hook up a scan tool to read the codes. A paper clip is all that is required. Check out TroubleCodes.net for how to check codes on an OBD1 vehicle.
