Default Best source for carburetor rebuild kits?

It looks like the Rochester 2SE on my '85 S10 Blazer is completely clogged up from sitting unused for several years, so I'm going to have to remove and rebuild it.

Are there any preferred sources for carburetor rebuild kits?

If it's really gummed up, you might be better off sending it to someplace like ReCarbCo to have it rebuilt. Or they might sell you the parts.

Are there things solvents won't unclog? I don't want to dump too much money into it when I might be better off buying a Weber.

I don't really know, to be honest. I haven't really done much work on carburetors since the 80s. But if you have the opportunity to upgrade without causing other problems (not passing inspection, etc.), I would go that way.

I haven't really been able to get a definite answer on the legality of Weber carbs in North Carolina where I live. I know they don't do tailpipe emissions tests on pre-1995 cars here, but on the last inspection report for the car, there is a checklist of emissions components. I think they have to be present whether or not they're actually working.

Update: With the carburetor out of the car, I can look down into the float chamber and see that there's a thick layer of amber-tinted varnish on the bottom of the float chamber from gas drying in there. It's completely sealed.
