Default Which tranny rebuild kit???

Need a rebuild and have been browsing around the web weighing out the pros and cons of a Rebuild vs New (used) transmission. My neighbors experienced with transmissions and said he'd take on the job so I think I'm just going to go with a rebuild because cash is limited for me. Some of the rebuild kits on eBay go for anywhere between 200-300. Any input or advice would be very helpful. Anyone else on here have any luck with rebuilds? Thanks

I honestly dont know,as im not a tranny guy. But i do know one thing. PLEASE get the beast sunshell (heavy duty version, the oems are weak) and when they go out you loose 4th and reverse(i think those are the 2).Also buy the corvette servo.

I have an 01 4WD. And yea I wanted to go over and at least watch him step by step, sounds pretty interesting. I definitely planned on getting a more durable heavy duty sunshell too, pretty sure thats what wen't with mine because I have no reverse, not sure of my other gears although it does still drive. Thanks for the all the input I'll probably get around to ordering the kit today.

I watched this video yesterday to get a good idea of what it'd be like, very informative and he takes you through literally step by step. I'll definitely try and document a before/after of all my Blazer's mods in the next coming weeks. Needs some other work aside from the tranny as well.
