Default Blazer experts I need your help again

I have an 87 2.8L 4x4, I am going to have convert it into a 5.7L 4x4 to tow what I want with it. I cannot use the 2.8L auto tranny on a 350, I do have the chance to pick up a 93 2wd 4.3 s10 for cheap, my question is:

Can I use my 4x4 trans axle and bolt it up to this trucks 4.3L tranny? I have heard that the 4.3L tranny will bolt up to a 350 is that also correct?

I believe that the '87 trans is a 700r4 and the '93 is a 4L60... Although they are conceptually the same, I am fairly sure that there are small differences that would prohibit you from putting your transfer case on to the 4L60 transmission. Besides, to go from a 2wd trans to a 4wd trans, you have to change out the tail housing and the output shaft to ones that are made to bolt up to the transfer case. It is these parts which are most likely of different designs between the two years you are working with...
