I have a 94S10Blazer and the idler pulley bearing is worn out and noisy. I put a socket on the bolt in the center that holds the idler puller and pulled counterclockwise but was unable to loosen the bolt. The bolt is threaded in a cast white metal that is part of the serpentine belt tensioner. I did not want to put too much pressure counterclockwise to loosen and thought I would ask for some help from the forum. Is the bolt threaded in the opposite direction or what advise would you give in breaking it loose without breaking something. thanks jimbob

sounds to me like you've got a case of dissimilar metal corrosion.......get a can of penetrating oil, maybe a heat gun even---heat the metal part as much as you can and pray you dont strip it......if it does strip you might get lucky and you'd be able to heli-coil it afterwards. GOOD LUCK!!![8D]
