Default Can I live with the leak without damage

I have a 94 S10- Blazer leaking red fluid between the engine and trans...but only after driving it. It's only a few drops and stops after being parked for 3-4 days. I can't afford the $$$$ for a fix. Is it possible the leak won't get much worse if I limit my driving. I drive maybe 220 miles per month.

if its coming from the front of the transmission it will probably be the input shaft, you have to pull the transmission to fix it. just make sure the dipstick tube or something else simple isnt leaking and just rolling to the front of the trans.

but as long as you keep a eye on the level you will be fine. who knows if it will get better or worse. it may cure itself over time, may get worse or might just stay the same.

the rear main seal on my engine has been leaking for like 2 years, just about a drop or 2 a day, aint gonna mess with it

As long as the level is topped up all the time, let it leak. ATF aint cheap tho, so after buying a few bottles @ 12bucks each, you will wanna fix the leak.

Default what is proper/accurate way to check the trans fluid?

Thanks for your responses, but now I am making sure the trans fluid is full. I checked it 'cold' after sitting in garage for a week and it was red all the way to the top of the dipstick. I then drove/ran it today for 5-10 minutes and while engine was running it stopped at the 'cold' line. What is the right way?

The mechanic told me the same...rear main leaks about a couple drops a day....$500 for repair or , as you said, keep it full and it won't damage anything. I just posted the "how to check the fluid properly" to make sure I'm doing it right! Thanx!

i was always told the proper way of doing it was on a level surface, with the vehicle in neutral and parking brake on and at full operating temp, so after you just drove it around for like 15 minutes or so then it should be in the "hot" mark.
