I have no idea what this wire is for, and I'd prefer to figure it out before i drive her any where. its greenish blue

Well I figured it out while the wife is shopping it goes to the dash temp gauge but I can not for the life of me where it plugs into , any ideas?

Look on the driver side cylinder head between the exhaust for cylinders 3 & 5.

Thanks swart but for some reason on mine its on the passenger side between 2 and four...what a pain in the a.. the wires were cut so electrical tape and a wire cap for now, I'll pull out the ol' soldering jig some time to do it right

looks like its for the hood light
hook up a meter to the wire and see if it has power.

its definitely the wire that runs my temp gauge, the gauge was not working, then i hooked up the wire to the connector on the block an bam i had temp gauge...btw remind me to let the damn thing cool down before jamming body parts into the engine bay lol

Yeah, that kinda hurts after a while but glad to hear it was an easy fix.
#8
easy yet painful...but i think the gauge is toast, drove it today for a good hour and never registered above 170 but right after it hits 170 it drops instantly to 120...Not to get off topic but any one know where i can get a digital gauge cluster?

Glad to hear you got it worked out.
Try LMC truck for a new dash cluster or a bone yard.
