Default RE: Cure time

Should say right on the side of the tube. Manufacturers specs should be followed for the best results. 24 hours is a good rule of thumb!

I just replaced a transmission pan gasket on my aunt & uncles '02 Stratus because some "smart" mechanic decided to use 2 tubes of Ultra Black on the pan (definitely more than 1 tube and I am NOT exagerating) and then fill it with trans fluid. There was even RTV on the valve body! This was over a 8 months ago and in the big globs, the RTV wasn't fully cured. Moral of the story, if you are going to use RTV, make sure that the surfaces are VERY clean, only use the amount required, and allow time to cure before putting the parts into service!
