Default The Dave Jimmy Project

Here's the story. A few months ago i found a 94 jimmy that was sitting in a barn since 2002 paid $800 for a 94 jimmy with 130,000 miles and little rust.

The mission

Now I needed to get this car ready and reliable for the frigid winters of northern Michigan.
______________________________
Whats been Done
-flushed fuel system
-replaced alternator
-replaced o2 sensor
-complete tune up (oil, plugs, caps, wires, distributor,)
________________________________
The Problem
When I replaced the plugs i found that one was chipped. I'm guessing be cause when the o2 sensor died it dumped a liquid ton of gas in to the mix causing detonation. And now even after the tune up it still has a rough idle. If I'm really unlucky the car will even cut off. Here's the funny part. The check engine light isn't on and the car is fine while driving. It only has a rough idle. I think its because a piece of that damn spark plug fell off and nicked something but I'm really clueless.

THE MISTAKE
I really f'ed up here....I put the GREEN STUFF IN MY COOLANT. How long can i go before i need to flush my radiator.

Thanks for reading!

Yeah, that was a nice deal.
Also, what do you mean by green stuff in your coolant?

oh the orange anti freeze is called dexcool. I've heard some bad things about it but never personally tried it.

Dexcool does not come in a '94. You should flush the rad, heater core and block, then refill with 50-50 green antifreeze and distilled water.

Dexcool + green stuff = nasty cloggy stuff.
