i'm in the process of rebuilding my 94 4.3 w engine. i had a hard time finding parts for a vin w 4.3 , vin z was easy to find. the pistons and rings are a different size. the w uses metric size rings with the second ring being thinner than the top ring, where as the z uses standard size ring with the top and second ring being the same size.

I'm just letting everyone know so that they wont do like i did and think that the only difference was intake gaskets.

W= Top-2mm Second-1.5mm Oil-4mm
Z= Top-5/64 Second-5/64 Oil-3/16
