I have an '83 with the 2.8. I think this is a great little engine. I have no need to go fast in my truck. What I am after is more low end torque, and increasing my gas mileage. I currently get 20/22 mpg. I am not looking to do any serious upgrades or mods till I get all the 20+ years of old hoses and what not out of the engine bay. I know of the small easy things to do, I am just curious as to the bigger more in depth things that can be done. I am fairly capable when it comes to turning wrenches, there is not much I am uncomfortable doing under the hood.
