Default Digital guage temp not working? HELP! PLS!!!

I have a 1993 chevy s-10 blazer its got a 4.3l vortec vin code w.

The temperature guage is not working. IT is the digital dash.. Everything else works fine...

I replaced the sending unit on the block for it... whats next... please help!

I don't want to have to mount a manual guage itll look ****ty so help me find out the solution pls.

Also, When I start it comes on and it goes all the way to the top like the rest of them... then when its running it just wont move up or down.. it stays at 0

I would take a close look at the plug as there were some issues with them. If that is what it is, what I have done is cut the factory end off and size up another connector and connect it. Good luck-Jerry

Okay, You are talking about the plug that goes into the sending unit correct? The NAPA guys said they had the plug and I could replace it I didn't think that was the issue I will try it though.

Is it a one wire or two? If a one, you should be able to connect it to ground and it should peg the temp. gauge-if it does, bad sender. If nothing, cut back-bare the wire back from the plug and see if it 'pegs' the gauge-if that does then..bad plug. Keep us posted. I would guess, either a bad sender or plug. But I guess the temp section of the digital dash could be bad but from my experience-that is rare. Jerry

put a new plug in its okay and sending unit is okay, I guess its the dash... Any clue what it could be... is there a solder point that might be bad or something...?

When I turn it on the entire dash works they all go up to the very top all the guages like they should... and the temp guage lights all work any everything.. its just not getting a reading...

Plug and sending unit is okay...

But what puzzles me about thinking its a bad solder is that... if u dont have the sending unit plugged in the truck will not run... so its definately reading that its there getting a connection

Then you changed the wrong temp sender. There is 2. One for the PCM to get readings from, and one for the gauge. The one you are wanting to change/test is on the passenger side head, not the one on the thermostat housing.
Here is a photo of where it is.

I have located the second sensor... I will go to napa tommorow and get it.. They never mentioned it when I was asking for parts for it... Do you know what the name of this part is? I'll try to explain it to them best I can but sometimes they don't seem very competent there at the shop

Update: Is it the heat guage sender? I looked it up a little bit..

The temperature sensor is for the computer. The temperature sensor is the one for the gauge. As Thomas pointed out, it's in the water jacket on the passenger side of the engine between two of the spark plugs. Hope this all helps...Jerry
