Disconnect 4WD
Just got a 94 Blazer and the 4WD will not disengage. While troubleshooting can I just take the front driveshaft out. I am a Ford person and don't know a lot about the chevy system.

Sounds like the TCCM encoder motor is bad. I remember reading on the forum a while back that one guy just took his off and changed the transfer case into and out of 4wd manually from under the vehicle. I'll try to find it.
Heres another thread on the same topic: https://blazerforum.com/forum/showth...+transfer+case

I had the same problem. What I did was take off the connection to the encoder motor, cleaned it out with electric contact cleaner. Pulled the fuse for 10 minutes, connected it all back up and haven't had a problem since
