Engine Degrease
Hello All..Question for all....I want to degrease my Engine 89 Blazer 4.3....Is there any parts that i should cover, wrap or remove in order to AVoid any water related issues...Any and all suggestion will be greatly appreciated...
You will also want to throw a plastic bag over the alternator as well just as a precaution. Really, everything under the hood can get wet, but you wouldn't want to put a direct flow of water onto the alternator or those things mentioned above.
**EDIT - Oh and Simple Green mixed 10:1 (10 parts water to 1 part simple green) workes wonders on a greasy engine. Plus, it isn't all that expensive and environmentally friendly (or more so than other degreasers)...

I wash mine at the car wash. I use the low pressure setting unless it is really muddy. Then I will hit it with the high pressure hose. I leave the engine running and try to avoid the distriburator cap and intake. To degrease, I use the tire cleaner.
