fan clutch locking up

Default fan clutch locking up

if my fan clutch is locking up will that cause me to lose power at top throttle. when i floor the gas peddle it seems like the truck wants to go but is being held back

i could see you losing a few hp cause its added drag. if your fan clutch is locked up you should be able to tell. that thing would be loud as in wind noise. ive known a few guys to run no clutches in offroad trucks but they were all running v8s other then the noise you really couldnt tell

yea thats what i am getting is the loud fan noise and it drives me crazy. what is it there for i have the 5.7 engine. would it hurt it if i just took it off. thanks for the info

ive never ran a engine without a fan clutch. also i dont think you can just take off the clutch youd have to go buy the spacer that would go between the fan and the water pump pulley. they should sell them at any kinda autoparts store
