Default Frustration.. ABS constantly running

First things first, I have a Frankenstein... The body is a 1994 s10 blazer 4x4 vin Z while the motor is a 1993 4.3L V6... I recently noticed a humming from under the hood. It is the ABS pump... I unplugged a plug and it stopped... I dont think this is healthy for my truck... I am just curious as how to fix the problem rather then ignore it...

You could leave it unpluged and it will be fine...you just won`t have your ABS function. Just your normal brakes. Your abs light may be on now because of your trouble code. Since this is a sealed, non-serviceable unit, if you want to fix it before winter you will have to replace the unit. They are expensive, about $1,200 dollars. As well as a pain to put in because you have to bleed the unit. If you feel lucky, you could do what I did. I went to my local pull-a-part and got one for $40.00 bucks and put it on without even bleeding it. That was a couple of years ago and it still works great! No trouble code. They won`t even sell you a warranty on those so you are on your own. I thought it was worth a shot and it paid off. Good luck.

pull the codes from the abs computer this website will tell you how. ABS TROUBLE CODES - OBD1 & OBD1.5 code 12 means that the computer is working right and is ok. if no 12 then abs computer is shot its the metal box thats hooked onto the ecu. i had all the codes come up on my abs and i took the abs computer apart and found a bad leaking capacitor. so i took one off a tv board and bam works now.
