Well... the filter wasnt my problem. Still doesnt start right. The filter needed to be changed anyway, but it just doesnt solve my problem. I found that if I try to start it 2-3 times, it usually starts. I'm working on finding a fuel guage, as I'm cheap and dont want to buy one. on the 4.3 v6, where do I find the port to attach to, I had looked under the hood before and couldnt find anything?
Thanks

Back of the driver's side head there will be a schrader valve on the fuel line closest to the fender, hopefully with a black cap on it (if no cap, get one for it).
Harbor Freight has fuel pressure gauges for under $20, but you can 'rent' one from Advance or Autozone.
EDIT: found a pic with the upper manifold removed. The schrader valve is in the upper right, circled in red.

I would say either you need to replace the fuel regulator which I a $50 orilley part or your ISC is bad and that can cause a no start.
And my fuel filter was a biotch! The fittings are rusted and I had to take the rubber fuel line off to unscrew it, stupid.
