HOW WOULD I REPAIR A RADICALLY BOBBING FUEL LEVEL GUAGE NEEDLE IN A `92 S-10 BLAZER

My fule gaugejumpsup,and downwhen 4-6 gallons from full. So about 16-14 gallons in the tank. My uncles 99 Silverado,and 2000 sierra has same problem. GM has problems with fule gaugeI would say. but thats ok the rest of the unit is verry nice.
