Default fuel pump

No power to the fuel relay, does anyone know where to check next or what supplies the relay?

On most GM's the pump only runs off the relay until the engine builds oil pressure. After the oil pressure comes up the pump gets its power from the oil pressure sending unit. If it was simply a relay related issue it would start and run, but only after cranking long enough with the starter to build oil pressure.

GM does this partly to kill the fuel pump in a collision - hopefully the engine dies in said collision, dropping the oil pressure and killing the pump.

Check your oil sending unit.

Default thanks man

I hope that'll lead me to the solution. The thing is after looking at a couple threads someone else wrote I also have no lights, no courtesy lights, no dash lights but the starting system works. The problem is it won't start. The fuel pump prime circuit and fuel relay have no constant power to support them I also noticed the junction block on the firewall has no power now either. I think I may have fried some stuff when it died all at once there was an electrical smell of sort.

Default fixed it!! sort of...

Ok, well the reason I had no fuel pump power is because the system had a short circuit due to the toggle switch I installed....dammit!!! I didn't secure the heavy 10 gauge wires well enough so when I started off roading for varmit season they came loose and got Hung up in the steering shaft on the firewall side and thus sorted to the body of the vehicle shooting the fusable links that went from the alternator. So I then pulled the fried fan switch wiring and replaced them with new wires and toggle switch then I moved to the fuesable links that were toasted together as well, and gave each of them a heavy gauged fuse link and put a 15amp fuse in each. All was great until it got dark when I tried to accelerate with the lights on I popped the fuse that I just replaced....must be the lighting fuse circuit. Thus I put a 25amp fuse in and I have yet to continue testing, but I'm first going to take a look at the headlight switch for evidence of a short as well as the light wiring at the lights.
