Default Fuel pump?

Ok, So I'm a first time (and damn proud) owner of a s10 4.3 blazer (pictures soon). However, I recently ran into this issue.

Quick background.. its a 89 s10 blazer 4x4. I love it...

But today I went to go to work, and when I started it, it would start then stall... and I tried starting it giving it some gas...for it to stall again.

Well, I started it again, it ran for a few seconds, so I put it in gear, and it stalled...

Any idea what it may be? (I'm secretly thinking fuel pump.)

Thanks in advance for your help.
Ashley.

3 things comes to mind. Egr,idle air control, and pump. Clean the iac 1st. my blazer did this and the iac was just dirty.,if that doesnt do it,id replace it anyways. The parts only like 15 bucks and the blazers ive owned,2 has gone bad. so its cheap security in the long run. Get some brake cleaner and clean out the egr, they cause all kinds of idle/stall issues. Replacing it is worth it,but last time i checked for a good egr valve is around 80 bucks,so id clean it for now.

The blazer needs 9-13 psi to run, before replacing pump do a fuel pressure check,if it turns out to be the pump buy ONLY delphi or ac delco. I and 2 people have tried airtex brand and all have failed shortly. Replace the fuel filter before replacing the pump to rule it out.

I think i covered everything,il be here for help if needed. thanks

So today, i let it idle for a bit and it ran well... you know let it "warm up". It didnt stall once, so with this information I would be best to do it IAC?

Oh and, how would i go about this-- im patrolling google now. (I told you I was new.) :P

Thanks.

Alrighty,if you dont know, the iac(idle air control) controls how it idles,if everything else is in working order.

take off the air cleaner and look at the throttle body. On passenger side of it you will see a round thing with a square plug in. unplug it,unscrew the sensor. you will see this

in the left side of the pic is a little piston type thing. you wanna get some brake fluid and clean all that up,then spray some brake fluid inside of the throttle body where it screws into and clean it out too..screw the iac back in,plug it up and try it out.

if thats not it clean the egr,its back behind the throttle body on the passenger side. Just take it off by removing 2 bolts, and you will see a little piston in it and a square hole, brake it full of brake cleaner, scrub it out, clean the little piston, etc and reinstall with a new gasket.

Thank you so much. I'm gonna rest for a few and then get up and do it (had to work at 630 am).

Thanks again.
