Fuel pump ???

Either is possible. Typically when it is starting to fail it will begin to make noise. Usually the pump will make some noise, but when failing it will get louder and much more noticeable. If you think it's noisy, best to replace it now....before it does fail altogether. It is also possible for it to just fail altogether one day, though typically unlikely. It is more likely that an unexpected failure would be from a bad relay or electrical connection than a pump just instantly dying.
Don't under ANY circumstances replace it with a airtex/autozone pump. You'll be replacing it again within a few months. Take the time to buy a Delphi pump and you'll be glad you did later on.

Sure this is a difference of opinion, but Bosch does make a good fuel pump for it. I know, I ran one in a 93 I owned.

I respect your opinion. But the data does not lie. A simple search will show you that 99% of people have the new pumps fail in a couple weeks or months if its not delphi or delco

I must have been the exception. That Bosch pump took me 3 years and then I had to give the truck up due to frame damage because someone forced me off the road.
