Default Gas Gauge

Hey Guys,

So this is my issue, when ever I drive my car, the fuel gauge just bounces around. Like it A LOT. It never shows how much fuel I actually have or anything it just jumps back and forth.

When I turn on my lights, it just drops down to E and stays.

Any advice on what is busted and what might needed to be fixed?

Thanks

The fuel tank sending unit is a 0-95ohm level sensor which has a 0ohm load when empty and 95ohms when full. If the wire from the sending unit were to become disconnected, it would read full all of the time.

THIS SITE
has a pretty good explanation of how it works and how to trouble shoot it.
