Thanks to this forum and a few good searches through old posts I was able to tackle the newly owned beast.
blazer was stuck in 4x4 and it was quite obvious by the way it drove. Guy i bought it from said it had probs making sharp turns and I knew right then what the problem was.
I was clueless to the whole "on the fly" pushbutton 4x4 thingy. but thanks to this place I was able to unplug the valve and plug the vacuum line off, now every thing is peachy. I don't really need the 4x4 just yet, the blazer is for my son.
Still gotta tackle the power window and the dang rear latch lock, but right now I'm happy
Thanks again !

Glad you got it working. Was that the vacuum hose at the transfer case or under the battery?

If it is sticking in 4WDit's a VERY CHEAP AND EASY FIX......it's a sticking vacuum switch (the one on the top of the t-case). It's about $40.00 at a dealer and you use a 3/4" wrench to swap it out. If you need help with the window or the hatch....just post up, but make sure you include vehicle info...year,make, model etc..

It was the vacuum line beneath the battery.
I'll try to work on things a little more, as weather permits, but right now it's around 16-25 knuckle busting degrees and I'm just trying to get it mobile enough for him to get to school.
Window I could care less about right now, I'll get a new motor at a later date.
Latch is no biggie, the stock those on the shelf fairly cheap.
4x4 is just a luxury right now, I'll tackle that when it get more into warmer spring weather
sure wish I had a garage

do you think that could be the fix for mine? i have a 98 auto 4x4 and i can only get it out of 4wd if i make a complete circle with the wheel turned all the way in a parking lot or something...
