The 4.3 motor in my blazer has developed a squezking noise I think it is coming from the tensioner ( I think that's what it's called ) can that thing be lubricated or does it need to be replaced and is it difficult and or expensive to replace????

if the tensioner is whats squeaking, then no on both sides. they are the cheapest of the pulleys AND probably the easiest to pull (i base this off the fact that is the ONLY one i have changed, and it was fairly straight forward.)
As for the lube... i'll let someone that has a bit more car sence than me wigh in. I would probably suggets something that would eat at your belt, leaving you will have bigger problems than a squeak.....
throw some powdered graphite at it. it might lessen the squeak some until you get aaround to changing the tensioner.

I would try also a Goodyear Gatorback belt. I had squeaking with new belt and tensioner. The Goodyear Gatorback does not squeak. (If it is the belt) You can apply some belt dressing or lubricant to the belt to see if it is the belt or the pulley. If it is the belt the noise will go away and it will come back a short time later.

Perfect!. The search worked this time. I will try a gatorback cause I lubed up and it just comes back within a short drive.

I have the same squeak and it wasn't the pulley or belt. Any other ideas?

Holy dead thread batman! Did you use a gatorback? Even a brand new belt will squeak on these. They are picky.
