Default Hesitation at idle

my 1994 S-10 Blazer 4.3 vortec is hesitating and occasionally stalls at idle after driving about 7-10 miles. A few people told me to remove and clean out the EGR valve. I tried that and it still hesitates im thinking ignition coil or replacing the EGR valve all together. Is there anything else it could be?

When you cleaned the egr did you clean the passage leading to it and put a screened gasket in? if not likely its clogged again it is rare for one to actually go bad (thank god the price on them is ridiculous) Check for bad vac hoses very common issue with these.
Even with all the "common issues" these trucks have it is far and away the best vehicle I have ever owned my 94 has been very good to me had it 4 years now and so far ive done the egr cleaning fpr and brake lines other than that normal maintenance (tune-up oil changes etc) this is of course not counting body lift, cancer repair and new paint. almost at 250,000 miles now and still pulling Heeps out of the bogs every week

I clean it out again and seems to be working fine. The only thing is i could not get the screen gasket at any parts store so i settled for the regular gasket until i can get the screen gasket. I love the blazer its a great truck once i know i fixed this problem it will be even better. Thanks for the help.

You can test your EGR with a multimeter while you have it off. Put it on OHMS and probe the 2 outer wire connections (of 4) while pushing in the plunger to 75% of its travel... if you get about 4 or 5 on the mutlimeter its good, if you get up near 10 ohms its junk and you need a new one. Mine failed and I got one from the wreckers cause a new one was about 240 bucks, cleaned it out and it works fine now. You can also test the one at the wreckers if you choose to go that route.
