I just bought a 1991 S10 Blazer and found that the horn is inoperative. From what I can tell all the wiring is in tack. and the horn is as well mounted and connected. Only thing I have found is that the fuse for the horn was missing from the fuse block, so I tried to insert a new fuse and it blew immediately. After looking through a Haynes book for this vehicle, I found it to say nothing about a horn, not even in the wiring schematics. So I went to the local Advance Auto store and had them look up a parts listing for the horn and it shows there is a Horn Relay. But, it does not show or say where it is located. I spent the better half of the day looking myself not to find any such creature under the hood or near the fuse block. Does Anyone know where this is located? Thanks

 

There should be a couple of relays on the drivers side fender under the hood. One of them might be your horn relay. One should be for the fuel pump. Might explain why the horn fuse was out.

The wiring diagram you want should be the body wiring.

 

If it keeps blowing right away, that means there is a short in your electrical wiring of the horn. If you are savvy with electrical systems, you can find it with a voltmeter, but it can be dangerous, so only fix it if you know exactly what you're doing, and be sure to disconnect the battery. I don't know what i would do without my horn, i used it a lot today, i don't know if it's ******* driving day or what, but there was this woman in a left turn lane, and i was in the lane next to it. She stopped, then somebody pulled in front of her going the other way, so she decide to split the difference, and stop with half of her car in the left turn lane, and half in my lane, not moving. WOW. So this is about 1000 feet in front of me, so i slam on the brakes, and hold my horn down for about 30 seconds untill she moved, and a little bit after. Women drivers-sorry to all of you women who are good drivers, its just the ones that make you look bad.

 

Trust me, I know what you're talking about, and I'm a woman driver. I almost get sideswiped by women on the 401 at least once a month because they have no concept of what it means to check your blind spot...or your mirrors for that matter.

 

It's not all women, its just some that tarnish the whole lot of 'em. And i feel really bad for the good ones. Its not too hard to fall asleep on the 401. Cornfield after cornfield after cornfield. Remember that horrible fog accident a few years back? with like 300 cars or something? That was horrible.

 

I disconnect the battery, horn and horn button. Then I installed a new fuse and reconnected the battery. Checked the fuse and found it was blown. Still have not found a horn relay or any wiring schematics showing the horn.....Begining to think I should have stayed with a Jeep.
