Default How to fix a power door lock switch

OK, so here's the scenario. The power door lock button on the driver side does not work. The one on the passenger side can operate both the driver side and the passenger side. What to do what to do? Well the repair procedure below is unconventional and does not guaranty results but it has worked for me.

Step 1: Remove driver side front wheel, yes you read that correctly.

Step 2: Take out a hammer from your toolbox, remember the bigger the hammer the less swings you'll have to make.

Step 3: Hammer in the bottom rear portion of the fender skirt about 1 inch as if to ensure it will not rub on your new 30x9.50 R15 tires.

Step 4: Mount the front wheel back on.

Step 5: Jump back in the cab and test the door lock switch - WHALAH !!! Problem Solved.

Join us next time as I walk you through seat belt repair with a blow torch and a roll of aluminum foil, jk, LOL.

Default RE: How to fix a power door lock switch

That doesn't surprise me at all. My driver side lock switch would only unlock the doors, but after my little wreck sunday night, it seems to be working fine to lock and unlock all doors, only problem I have is the driver side lock itself is a little tight and I have to hit the button a few times before it'll actually lock it, or I just do it manually to save time.

And so everyone knows, yeah I hit a guy who ran a redlight, but luck saved me as I hit the brakes enough to really **** up his car while only putting a flat spot on my front bumper and moving it to the left a little. Hell, I needed a new one anyway so this wasn't a big deal. Scared the **** out of me though, thought it was going to be worse til I got out and looked at it. Tough truck, either that or awesome brakes, take your pick
