Default I broke it off!

Yesterday I pushed the parking break pedal in and the pedal broke off! I have two questions 1) can this be replaced w/o having to take it in, and 2) could the two parts of the pedal be welded back together or would I need to find a replacement? When it broke it broke in a straight line splitting the pivot point.

If you can take the two pieces out, they should be able to be welded together. You could even re-inforce the weld with over lapping plate. Should be very easy.

It depends on where the break in the pedal arm is and how good of a welder you have do the work.

Can you take pictures of the broken component showing the location of the break?

If you live in the Norfolk Va Area take it off and bring it to me, I can weld it back together, and reinforce it. I'm not a certified welder but I work for the city schools here fixing fences, playgrounds, benches, poles, foul poles, baseball/softball, backstops, gates and whatever else the little darlings around here break, so I have become pretty darn handy with a welder.

Thanks for the help guys, but I ended up going to the junk yard and finding a whole new parking brake assembly and putting in it yesterday.
