Default Ignition Problem?? (89 s-10 blazer 4x4)

Currently having ignition problems?? Having mis-fire/back-fire during increased acceleration (only intermitently and worse uphill), hard idle at start then idles smooth after a few pumps of the pedal, and lack of power during steady acceleration that picks back up after a few seconds (low rpm). EGR code was showing earlier, was replaced, only helped a little (code no longer showing). Fuel filter was replaced, helped throttle response (steady fuel showing at injectors). Spark plugs were then replaced, no change. Ignition coil was replaced, got extremely worse, put old coil back on. What is causing this???? Module? Pick-up coil? Timing? **Engine idles and revs perfectly in park or neutral.

My opinion..since a new coil made it worse, a stronger spark will travel through the wires to a ground if the wires arent any good or touching somewhere..have you sprayed a light mist of water on the plug wires in a dark area..ck for spark jumping around.

haven't checked for spark jump, but i have prevented the plug wires from touching any metal surfaces
