Default Intermittent smoking from exhaust

I sure could use some help with this. I have a 1991 S10 Blazer with the 4.3 V6 and am having some intermittent or sporadic smoking from the exhaust. Sometimes no smoke and other times a lot of smoke. No error codes showing up, good oil pressure, and the Blazer seems to be running just fine otherwise. Is this likely to be plugged oil return holes in the heads? I had something like this years ago on a 68 Ford 390 V8. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks.
Joe

Had this happen in a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Sometimes it would smoke enough to not see out the back window, other times it would run without smoking at all. In my case, it was valve stem seals.

Does the smoke appear at engine start-up or during operation?

rridle3, I noticed the smoke this morning when I started truck to warm it up and outside temp was about 30F. After truck was warmed up I drove it about 5 miles, shut it off, and restarted it right away and I didn't see any smoke coming out the exhaust. Ideas?
