Jeep heater question
My mom called and said her heat in her '00 Cheerokee Sport isn't blowing out "hot" air, just warm air. I don't know that much about heating and air conditioning so I thought I'de ask. And also, when I turn the blazers heater on there is a loud tinking noise where my heater is and it sounds like the fan hitting somthing. I don't want my heat to go out... Is this a problem?
On the Jeep, check that the radiator is full, next check the heater hoses to see if they are both the same temp. If the heater hoses are different temperatures then the heater core is plugged
Does your heater fan have that noise at all blower speeds?

All I know is the T stat was replaced not too long ago. How would I go about unplugging the heater core? I'm acually not sure where it is excatly...

If the coolant level in the rad is full and the temperature of both heater hoses is the same you should probably change the thermostat.
Then re-fill the rad and run the engine til the thermostat open and top up the coolant.
There are probably 2 bolts holding the thermostat housing.

check the temp guage. if its at normal temp then its not the t-stat. its probably clogged heater core. it happened to my blazer when i first got it. there will be 2 hoses that go through the fire wall. they should be 3/4" to 1" in diameter. take both of them loose from the fire wall and run water through the heater core, opposite direction of normal flow. i ended up getting my whole system flushed because i flushed the heater core about 4 times and it just kept getting clogged.
