Default Just bought an 89

I just bought an 89 s-10 blazer 4.3 4wd aod. I picked up from a customer of mine, brought it in with almost no oil pressure and a pretty nice engine knock. I live and work in phoenix, az. SO, with that that said, im wanting to replace the engine. A friend of mine has what i believe is an L35 complete engine. I'm not wanting to hassle with the fuel injection change and everything. id like to keep the throttle body injection. Will the block and heads work in an 89 4.3? Ive searched a lot on this and cant really find a straight answer. I believe this block has the balance shaft also but im not certain. the engine thats for sale is complete but i should be able to take the upper/lower intake manifolds and change over everything from mine to that engine and drop it in correct? Any help would be mucho appreciated !

Have a read through this:
Rebuilding The Chevy 262 by Doug Anderson
and you should find more than enough information on the changes made to the 4.3L between your TBI engine and the later CPI motor.

So from what ive read, it seems that the L35 is balance shaft and the 89 262 wasnt. basically what i want to do is remove all the fuel injection, UIP,LIM and bolt all of the 89's on and drop it in. It seems like the heads are the same and the only real changes to the block was bosses added for the trans support struts and a few different changes to the cylinder heads with the newer vortec fuel injection and vortec heads. Is this correct?

That about sums it up. You should be able to swap over the TBI intake manifold provided it clears the balance shaft (which it should).
