I'd say plugs and wires need to be chekced first thing. I'd do a complete tune-up on it. Are there any codes or lights coming on? Maybe you need to clean up the EGR? No stalling at all?

i had same problem w/ my 92 blazer, i replaced the thermistat and that fixed the idleing problem, ur sending unit might be bad if its hesitating to go for a second when u hit the gas, my fuelpump and sending unit was the problem on my truck...

Pull one plug and make sure it has the correct gap. Improperly gapped plugs will make the engine run rough, espeaically at lower rpms.
