Leaking intake or head gasket?

Thanks! I think I put the distributor back in a tooth or ten off. When I "checked" the timing the first time, I was referencing the wrong line on the harmonic balancer- someone before me made a couple of marks on the HB. The second time I lined it up with the proper mark and noticed the rotor was about 15-20 degrees off of the first cylinder on the cap, so then I unplugged the timing connector under the dash and rotated the distributor till it was in the right place and now it runs great.

Yep. A lot of people have been in that position. Glad you got it working.
