MPG on a 1992 S- 10 Blazer

Question MPG on a 1992 S- 10 Blazer
Ive got 4 wheel drive 4 door 4.3 liter S-10 and i get about 16 mpg is that pretty normal because a friend of mine had an older one and got about 23 mpg.and if not normal what are the first things i should look at.

my wife gets about 7km per litre and i can get about 9km per litre. she has a leadfoot and i dont. My blazer was just totally tuned up and runs like a dream according to me and the dyno at the aircare station.

Driving Habits, Dyno or Synthetic Oil, Type of Tires, Type of Air Filter all make a difference. I get at leasst 21 Hyw with PMetric tires, synthetic Oil, K&N Air Filter, plus using cruise control when I can.

i average about 17MPG. But the 4.3 has just over 300,000Kms on it and it's getting a bit tired.
